The Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) (Lithuanian: Lietuvos futbolo federacija) was founded to act as the governing body of Lithuania football. It promotes the development in the country and for the national teams, including Lithuania’s national football team. The LFF is based in Vilnius and became a member of FIFA in 1923, but was disbanded by the occupying Soviets for being too anti-Communist and most games were called off during World War 2 anyhow. It became a member of FIFA again in 1992 after Lithuania became independent. The top level division is called- “A Lyga”.
