The Battle of Narva was a military campaign between the German Army Detachment "Narwa" and the Red Army units on the Soviet Leningrad Front fought for possession of the strategically important Narva Isthmus, mear the Narva River in Estonia on 2 February – 10 August 1944 during World War II. The Germans were helped by the collaborationist Estonian conscript auxiliary police and Estonian border guard forces. It resulted in a German defensive victory. 14,000 Axis and 100,000 Soviet dead or missing occurred in the insolent.
