The Baltic Entente was based on Treaty of Understanding and Collaboration signed between Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia on September 12, 1934 in Geneva. It was a mutual-defense laid the basis for close cooperation among those states. British saw in a Baltic Entente a better chance for maintenance of status quo and the USSR just got paranoid.

It lasted from 1934 to the Soviet conquest of 1940.
